Canadian Universities

Hey Versan Students. Its me once again giving feedback on schools aboard this time in Canada.

University of Toronto
-Great univeristy in Canada
-Consider the Harvard of the Canadian Schools.
-Only top students should really considering applying.
-Their Honors Program are the two we would recommend (Trinity College and Victoria College)
-These honors programs are modeled after the Oxford system!!!
-Overall impression is that the school ROCKS!!

York University
-Great school for either business related courses or the fine arts.
-The fine arts (film, acting, animation and dance) are their expertise.
-Actress Rachel McAdams (Mean Girls, The Notebook and Wedding Crashers) was a graduate of this fine arts program.

University of Guelph

-Great school for students interested in science (nano-science, aerospace engineering, environmental science and etc.)
-Very good outdoor programs and would be great for a student who loves nature.

Western Ontario
-#1 Business school in Canada.
-Great at conservatory programs as well
-Very far out and cold
-Offers solid school experience
-Big on social activities for students (movie theater on campus that plays all the recent big blockbusters

Ryerson University
-Great school for computer science (software engineers such as radio, tv and print)
-One of the best aviation programs in Canada.
-Also known for their architecture program as well.

N.B.
Most of the campuses in Canada offer students a mini-mall like experience on campus that provides services such as hairdresser, nail tech places, movie theaters, food halls and so forth that are not seen in the United States.

Great Universities in California

posted May 6, 2009 9:13 AM by Sandra Bramwell

Mrs. Bramwell-Riley has just given me some information from her trip to California. She toured many different universities across the state. Here are some really good ones:

Santa Clara University
They are a very prestigious university located in sunny California.
Their strengths are in Business, Computer Sciences, and Information Technology. So anyone with an interest in these areas should really consider applying here.
Also, the major tech firms in Silicon Valley recruits students from this university yearly.

University of San Fran
Another great school located in sunny California. It is located in the urban city of San Fransisco.
Anyone interested in Nursing, Law, Architecture. Economics or Business should check them out and consider applying.
They have a very pretty, calming campus located in a metropolitan city.
They are also a very competitive athletic school that is great at Water-polo, Swimming, Soccer (Football) and Basketball.
Interesting fact about University of San Fran is that they have the largest swiming pool in the entire US.

St. Mary's

This Catholic school is very sports oriented some of their top sports are;  soccer (boys and girls) baseball, track and field, cross country, basketball, golf, tennis, volleyball and rowing (women only). The volleyball program here is one of the best in the state. Because of the value placed on sports this is a good school for sports scholarships. Although the sports are top notch the academics are not the best, students here are average to below average, we recommend that any student who goes there should join the honors program to keep on top of things.
Other good programs are dance, music and theatre

Mills College

This college is for ladies only. This school has a lot to offer they are have an impressive; nursing, education and fine arts program in addition to one of the states best choir's. They are open to giving girls a second chance and therefore accept students with average grades. The school is very welcoming and supportive and wants to represent underrepresented girls. The rooms are amazing every one has a single and their own balcony.
In addition to treating students well the coellge is commited to treating the environment well, and stringly promote eco friendly life styles.

University of Berkeley

posted May 4, 2009 2:19 PM by Sandra Bramwell

This school is a favorite of Mrs. Bramwell- Riley second only to Stanford University; acedemics are excellent and its affordable too, at $26,000. Its strictly a A+ school, applicants with less than 3.9 GPA's need not apply, SAT range from 620- 730. Because of this combination of grades and cost Berkeley is very competitive especially for international students 4,000 apply every year yet there is only space for 700 at the school.
